Contacts prospective clients through newspaper advertisements or mailing lists. Describes to client selling points of property or business, emphasizing such factors as improvements made and profit potential. Sells business or property to buyer and makes arrangements for escrow and title change.

Conveyor System Operator

Operates console to control automated conveyor system that receives, sorts, distributes, and conveys bulk or packaged materials or products to and from loading dock and storage area, and between departments or processes.: Reads production and delivery schedules and confers with supervisor to determine sorting and routing procedures. Presses buttons and turns dials to start conveyor system and regulate speed of conveyors. Observes materials or products moving on conveyors, or observes lights on control panel to monitor flow and operation of system. Moves switches or pushes buttons to route order to designated areas and to raise, lower, and align conveyor with specific adjoining conveyors. Contacts work stations by telephone or intercom to request movement of order or to notify workstations of shipment en route and approximate delivery time. Stops equipment and clears jams, using hand tools. Observes operation to detect equipment malfunction and informs supervisor when malfunction occurs. May operate elevator system in conjunction with conveyor system. May weigh trucks and railroad cars before and after loading, or read scale that continually weighs product on conveyor to ascertain when specified tonnage has been loaded and record weight on loading ticket. May join sections of conveyor frames at temporary working areas and connect power units. May collect samples of materials for analysis. May lubricate moving parts of conveyors. May operate scoop to load materials onto conveyor. May record data, such as weight and type of material moved and condition of equipment.

Surveillance System Monitor

Monitors premises of company, building, or public transportation terminals to detect crimes or disturbances, using closed circuit television monitors, and notifies authorities by telephone of need for corrective action. Observes television screens that transmit in sequence views of transportation facility sites. Pushes hold button to maintain surveillance of location where incident is developing, and telephones police or other designated agency to notify authorities of location of disruptive activity.: Adjusts monitor controls when required to improve reception, and notifies repair service of equipment malfunctions.

Solar Energy System Installer

Installs and repairs solar-energy systems designed to collect, store, and circulate solar-heated water or other medium for residential, commercial, or industrial use. : Locates and marks position of collectors, holding tank, and distribution system on structure, according to specifications and blueprints. Cuts holes in roof, walls, and ceiling to install equipment and plumbing, using power saws and drills. Installs supports and brackets to anchor solar collectors and holding tank, using carpenter's hand tools. Cuts, threads, and fits plumbing according to specifications for connecting circulation system, using plumber's hand tools. Lays out and connects electrical wiring between controls and pumps according to wiring diagram and knowledge of standard industry practice, using electrician's hand tools. Tests electrical circuits and components for continuity, using electrical test equipment. Tests plumbing for leaks, using pressure gauge. Pushes control buttons to activate pumps and observes system to detect malfunctions. Repairs or replaces defective equipment.

Aircraft Mechanic Environmental Control System

Lays out, assembles, installs, tests, and adjusts aircraft environmental control systems according to specifications, using handtools, power tools, machines, and test equipment: lays out location of assemblies and parts, such as turbines, heat exchanges, valves, cylinders, struts, pumps, instruments, lines, and fittings on aircraft, using layout tools, such as scribers, rules, steel tape, and center punches. Measures, cuts, and bends tubing and other materials, using machines, such as saws, brakes, and tube bending equipment. Assembles, installs, and hooks up system components, using handtools, power tools, and fasteners, such as bolts, screws, rivets, and clamps. Tests functional performance of installed systems and portions of systems for malfunctions or leaks, using test equipment.

Business Services Analyst

Formulates and defines the scope and objectives of business systems based on both user needs and an understanding of information technology, business processes, and industry requirements. Applies extensive knowledge of the customer's business and industry to develop project specifications. Analyzes business and user needs, documents requirements, and translates into proper system requirements specifications.: Researches, identifies, and develops solutions to problems. Advises on methods to improve business processes. Coordinates and participates in proposals, feasibility studies, implementations, and new business development. Considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment. May lead the training of customers and peers.

Business Systems Analyst

Analyzes business processes, functions, and procedures to determine the most effective business systems software to meet the needs of the organization. Establishes systems specifications and objectives, based on business requirements and cost effectiveness, and provides recommendations to management personnel. Participates in systems development and design, including software programming and table, report, and panel design. Formulates test plans and coordinates and performs software testing. This job typically requires a four-year degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.: Coordinates implementation of the system software, including conversion of data to the new system, and works with application support personnel to resolve system problems. Documents system specifications and notes any changes in procedure. Acts as liaison between systems software development staff, management, and system end-users to determine requirements and obtain sign-off. Provides training and technical support to system end-users.
