Director Marketing (Experience)

Directs the promotion of the marketing or service activities among customers or prospects; directs representatives who call on existing or potential customers. Directs advertising and marketing campaigns. Holds meetings to coordinate efforts of marketing staff. This position typically reports to the Marketing Top Officer and normally will have a Marketing Manager reporting to it; however, in smaller organizations all levels of marketing management may not be present and this may be the Head of Marketing.: Ensures that representatives are kept informed of changes in territories that might affect product sales. Makes forecasts on anticipated market sales. Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring work activities, such as preparation of records of expenditures, progress reports, etc., in order to inform management of current status or work activities. Submits reports of sales activity and maintains records. Promotes satisfactory customer relations. May recruit, hire, train staff, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.

Manager Plant (Experience)

Directs production and distribution for branch plant or assigned territory of industrial organization. Coordinates production, distribution, warehousing, and cost accounting in accordance with company policies, principles, and procedures. Typically reports to director level or above and may have supervisors reporting to this position. NOTE--ERI's findings based on experience.: Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees. Reviews production costs and product quality, and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation. Directs personnel program. Recommends budgets to top management.

Project Manager (Experience)

Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of projects to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. May report to a director and may have supervisors reporting to this position. NOTE: ERI's findings based on experience.: Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of projects. Establishes work plan and multi-disciplinary staffing for each phase of project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel. In larger organizations may have the responsibility of managing project supervisors/leaders assigned to specific projects. Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority. May manage sub-contractors and their workforce. Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget. Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required. Prepares project reports for management, client, or others. Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.

Formulates pricing policies to ensure profitability of store operations. Coordinates sales promotion activities and prepares or supervises preparation of merchandise displays and advertising copy. Performs and/or supervises employees engaged in taking of and controlling inventories, reconciling cash with sales receipts, keeping operating records, or preparing daily records of transactions. Plans and prepares work schedules and assigns employees to specific duties. Typically the next organization level is an Area Manager and supervisors report to this position. NOTE--ERI's findings based on years of experience.: Orders merchandise or prepares requisitions to replenish inventory on hand. Ensures compliance of employees with established security, sales, and record keeping procedures and practices. Typically accountable for controllable expenses, cash management, merchandising, and loss prevention. May hire and train store personnel and maintain employee relations.
