Banking Manager

Manages branch of financial institution, such as commercial bank, credit union, finance company, mortgage company, savings bank, or trust company. Directs and coordinates activities to implement institution policies, procedures, and practices concerning granting or extending lines of credit, commercial loans, real estate loans, and consumer credit loans. Directs, through subordinate supervisors, activities of workers engaged in implementing establishment services and performing such functions as collecting delinquent accounts, authorizing loans, or opening savings account. The Branch Manager (Major Branch) is distinguished from the Branch Manager (Minor Branch) as the position requires more experience, supervises a larger staff, and is a larger volume branch bank.: Establishes procedures for custody and control of assets, records, loan collateral, and securities to ensure safekeeping. Contacts customers and business, community, and civic organizations to promote goodwill and generate new business. May prepare financial and regulatory reports required by law, regulations, and Board of Directors. May examine, evaluate, and process loan applications. May recommend securities to board or corporate officers for institution investment. May talk to customers to resolve account problems. May interview and hire workers. May evaluate data pertaining to costs to plan budget. May plan and develop methods and procedures for carrying out activities of establishment.

Banking Analyst

Conduct quantitative analyses of information affecting investment programs of public or private institutions.

Banking Teacher

Teach courses in business administration and management, such as accounting, finance, human resources, labor relations, marketing, and operations research. Include both teachers primarily engaged in teaching and those who do a combination of both teaching and research.

Banking Loan Clerk

Processes applications of individuals applying for loans and credit. Interviews applicant to obtain personal and financial data and fills out application. Reviews credit history and obtains information needed to determine creditworthiness of loan.: Calls or writes to credit bureaus, employers, and personal references to check credit and personal references. Verifies credit limit, considering such factors as applicant's assets, credit experience, and personal references, based on predetermined standards. Performs clerical and administrative support activities related to loan closing. Prepares papers and assembles documents to close loans for borrowers. Forwards applications for loans, construction plans, and credit ratings to loan company for approval. Receives approval of company and orders preliminary title reports and covenants. Draws up closing papers showing financial transactions, conditions, and restrictions upon which sale is based.: Records deeds with title company and municipal authorities.

Banking Skip Tracer

Traces skips (debtors who change residence without notifying creditors to evade payment of bills) for creditors or other concerned parties. Searches city, telephone, and street listings, inquires at post office, and checks electronic records and other sources. Interviews, telephones, or writes former neighbors, stores, friends, relatives, and former employers to elicit information pertaining to whereabouts of skips.: Follows up each lead and prepares report of investigation to creditor. May trace individuals for purposes of serving legal papers. May contact debtors by mail or phone to attempt collection of money owed.

Banking Teller Loan

Accepts payments on loans and maintains custody of securities. Accepts cash or checks and issues receipts. Ascertains principal, interest, and discounts, and posts entries to computer records and payment books. Prepares loan forms and documents, such as notes, contracts, and loan renewals.: Examines collateral for negotiability. Examines documents on secured loans to ascertain that necessary pledges, powers, chattel mortgages, and assignments are present. Surrenders note and collateral to customer upon payment of loan.

Banking Teller Head

Coordinates activities of employees engaged in receiving and paying out money and keeping records of transactions in banks and similar financial institutions. Assigns duties and work schedules to workers to ensure efficient functioning of department. Performs teller duties. Assists other tellers with difficulties encountered with customers or with checks. Assists with balancing the cash drawer if a teller is having problems; notes any differences in drawer and makes correcting entries. Is able to temporarily perform Teller Supervisor duties in his/her absence. Assists in the proper training of new tellers as required. Performs "spot audits" for Teller Supervisor. Verifies money, cash levels of other teller drawers. Reports to Teller Supervisor.: Trains employees in customer service and banking procedures. Approves checks for payment. Adjusts customer complaints. Examines tellers reports of daily transactions for accuracy. Consolidates and balances daily transactions. Ensures supply of money for financial institution's needs based on legal requirements and business demand. May allow customers access to safe deposit boxes, following specified procedures. May monitor and review financial institution's security procedures and control access to vault. May count and record currency and coin in vault.
