Audit Supervisor

Supervises and reviews work of the audit staff. Organizes and directs team of auditors involved in auditing projects for private business enterprises, interacts with other agencies as required, and reviews unusual or contested audit reports. Ensures that reviews are completed in compliance with the organization’s Audit Department and Institute of Internal Auditor standards.: Conducts initial and exit interviews with representatives of large firms. Reviews and authorizes the use of various audit techniques and procedures tailored to the individual business records and the specific business activities of the taxpayer. Educates business managers in computing and reporting taxes due by explaining legal requirements, rules, regulations, procedures, and ordinances of the city and other agencies involved. Performs research, prepares reports, and communicates findings and recommendations to line and senior management. Controls consulting engagements that evaluate corporate management and operating practices. Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service. Oversees the development of audit staff and the completion of performance evaluations.

EDP Audit Manager

Manages the auditing examination and analysis of electronic data processing (EDP) records of an establishment, and prepares reports concerning documentation and operating procedures. Manages operation of reviewing data regarding material assets, net worth, liabilities, capital stock, surplus, income, and expenditures. Develops audit programs and reviews systems operations, controls, and security guidelines. Typically reports to a director and has supervisors reporting to it; however, in smaller companies the manager may be the first level supervisor over subordinate staff.: Inspects items in books of original entry to determine if proper procedure in recording transactions was followed. Assists in the preparation of audits and management of the audit process. : Notifies appropriate parties of the audit and schedules entrance and exit conferences. Develops tools to assist staff in effectively coordinating audits and holds staff meetings as needed. Reviews customer contracts for audit rights, and prepares necessary audit confidentiality agreements and Par Plan addendum agreements. Compiles data relating to research area, such as employment, productivity, and wages and hours. Reviews and analyzes economic data in order to prepare reports detailing results of investigation, and to stay abreast of economic changes. Organizes data into report format and arranges for preparation of graphic illustrations of research findings. Formulates recommendations, policies, or plans to aid in market interpretation or solution of economic problems, such as recommending changes in methods of agricultural financing, domestic, and international monetary policies, or policies that regulate investment and transfer of capital. May supervise and assign work to staff. May testify at regulatory or legislative hearings to present recommendations.

Lobbyist Senior

Represents a major client, usually at the national level, and provides strategic policy direction, and lobbies for client's interests on issues of major importance. Contacts and confers with members of legislature and other holders of public office to persuade them to support legislation favorable to client's interest. Studies proposed legislation to determine possible effect on interest of client, who may be a person, specific group, or general public. May contact regulatory agencies and testify at public hearings to enlist support for client's interests. May be legally required to register with governmental authorities as lobbyist and to submit reports of regulated expenditures incurred during lobbying activities. May attend and represent local organization at state and national association meetings. May instruct individuals or organization members in lobbying techniques.

Specializes in a more complex aspect of the Benefit Clerk duties. Requires more in-depth knowledge of benefit programs, company policies, and administrative procedures than the Benefit Clerk. This is a paraprofessional job and excludes jobs whose responsibilities typically require a four-year college degree.: Researches, analyzes, and integrates data to provide information on benefits and group insurance programs and utilization.
