Top Merchandising Planner

Formulates, plans and implements merchandising programs to plan merchandise, control inventory, and allocate merchandise to stores so as to optimize flow of materials, timing, quantities, margins, and optimum unit purchases. Presents media plan to client and responds to questions and modifications desired by client. Negotiates agreement on media plan items, such as target audience, type of media to be used, and final advertising budget. Sends approved media plan to media buying department with specifications, such as what media are to be purchased, time frame of advertising campaign, and budget. Monitors implementation of buying plan. Modifies media plan when changes will result in better opportunity to achieve marketing goals. Ensures that purchased time and space are delivered as agreed. Monitors advertising budget. Audits reports of media activities, such as number of spots, and gross rating points. Meets with media representatives and attends trade shows. Reads communication industry and national news publications to maintain awareness of current promotions, changes in technology, and issues of public interest. Reviews assets and liabilities of estate to determine that insurance is adequate for financial protection of estate. Plans and prepares production schedules for business unit or organization. Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet completion dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.: Translates orders into a sequential work schedule. Analyzes production specifications and capacity data, and performs mathematical calculations to determine production processes, tools, and human resource requirements. Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established production sequences and lead times. Plans sequence of operations. Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects. Expedites operations that delay schedules, and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Data Recovery Planner

Develops, coordinates implementation of, and tests plan to continue establishment data processing activities at off-site location in case of emergency, such as fire, at main site. Determines hardware, software, data files, safe storage facilities, and other resources required. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in field of specialty. Excludes paraprofessional positions.: Establishes priority of data processing activities according to importance to business. Develops plan to meet emergency data processing needs. Identifies personnel needed to implement plan. Presents plan to management and recommends means of obtaining required facilities, such as contracting with off-site vendor. Urban Planner

Develops short- and long-term comprehensive plans and programs for development, growth, revitalization, and utilization of land and physical facilities of cities, counties, and metropolitan areas to maximize quality of life for the community and its residents. Compiles and analyzes data on economic, social, and physical factors affecting land use, projects future community needs, and prepares or requisitions graphic and narrative reports on data. Requires a four-year college degree in urban planning, civil engineering, or a related field in addition to additional training and job experience in planning and development.: Confers with local authorities, civic leaders, social scientists, and land planning and development specialists to devise and recommend arrangements of land and physical facilities for residential, commercial, industrial, and community uses. Recommends governmental measures affecting land use, public utilities, community facilities, and housing and transportation to control and guide community development and renewal. May review and evaluate environmental impact reports applying to specified private and public planning projects and programs. Usually employed by local government jurisdictions, but may work for any level of government, or for private consulting firms.

Environmental Planner

Collaborates with technical experts on a variety of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and specific State environmental quality acts, policies, or practices-related documents for organizations involved in urban in-fill, transit oriented development, transportation and public works, water resources, power projects, etc., that will improve the quality of life in a specific state or area. Prepares and manages environmental documents. Assumes responsibility for due diligence studies, opportunities and constraint analysis and supporting technical studies, public outreach and presentations to public entities, as well as project organization and submittals and coordination with sub consultants. Works out compliance and permitting and ensures environmental compliance and safety.: Works on a full range of environmental planning services, including resource assessments and management plans, environmental impact statements, environmental assessments, categorical exclusions, and environmental overviews. Scopes critical issues and at-risk resources, clearly defines a project's purpose and need, identifies and evaluates a feasible range of alternatives, discloses potential impacts, provides adequate and reasonable mitigation measures, and participates with the public in decision-making processes. Prepares all levels of NEPA studies, and natural, social, and cultural resource planning documents. Displays strong working relationships with Federal, State, tribal, and local resource and regulatory agencies.

Planner Program Services

Conducts studies, prepares reports, and advises public and private sector administrators on feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory conformance of proposals for special projects or ongoing programs in such fields as transportation, conservation, or health care: consults with administrators or planning councils to discuss overall intent of programs or projects, and determines broad guidelines for studies, utilizing knowledge of subject area, research techniques, and regulatory limitations. Maintains collection of socioeconomic, environmental, and regulatory data related to agency functions, for use by planning and administrative personnel in government and private sectors. Reviews plans and proposals submitted by other governmental planning commissions or private organizations to assist in formulation of overall plans for region.

Certified Financial Planner

Develops and implements financial plans for individuals, businesses, and organizations, utilizing knowledge of tax and investment strategies, securities, insurance, pension plans, and real estate: interviews client to determine client's assets, liabilities, cash flow, insurance coverage, tax status, and financial objectives. Analyzes client's financial status, develops financial plan based on analysis of data, and discusses financial options with client. Prepares and submits documents to implement plan selected by client. Maintains contact with client to revise plan based on modified needs of client or changes in investment market. May refer client to other establishments to obtain services outlined in financial plan. May sell insurance to client, recommending amount and type of coverage sales agent, insurance. May buy and sell stocks and bonds for client registered representative. May rent, buy, and sell property for client sales agent, real estate.
