Treasury Analyst

Reviews and analyzes all operational cash flows for the organization. Analyzes the organization's financial records to forecast future financial position and budget requirements. Evaluates need for procurement of funds and investment of surplus. Advises management on investments and loans for short- and long-range financial plans. Assists in preparing the organization's financial reports. Ensures an efficient banking structure to support the organization's overall operations through overseeing operational and strategic projects. Supports all aspects of Treasury Operations activities, including assisting with the development of cash management banking solutions for all business segments of the organization and supporting the cash forecasting process.: Ensures the continued, accurate operation of the company's treasury systems and supporting schedules. Establishes required bank accounts and performs the daily administration of bank accounts, investments, and/or debt obligations to include required funding and disbursement and compilation of cash position. Monitors rates and analyzes the impact of changes on the deposit accounts. Identifies proper approval for transactions, initiates domestic and international electronic funds transactions for settlement of obligations, and approves appropriate transactions. Develops and maintains required records and maintains proper internal controls of recorded transactions. Provides standard reporting of accounts and their respective balances. Maintains internal auditing practices and recommends more efficient methods of controls. Reconciles daily and month-end schedules and statements. Prepares year-end reporting of investment activity for annual reporting. Documents treasury procedures and maintains appropriate detail in coordination with treasury responsibilities and initiatives. Ensures compliance with corporate policies and procedures for all cash desk operations. Assists other members of the Treasury Department with projects encompassing the organization's capital markets activities.

Data Analyst

Performs complex data analysis in support of ad-hoc and standing management or customer requests. Develops programs, methodologies, and files for analyzing and presenting data. Uses and supports database applications and analytical tools. Evaluates data quality, applications, and functions. Produces output and maintains operation. Researches new data sources and analytical tools. Contributes to new product development and improvement in product delivery and presentation. Develops awareness of and familiarity with issues and events affecting organization, department, and/or customer. Uses timely and appropriate participation of users/customers in data collection and query systems.: Provides accurate and appropriate interpretation of data, applying knowledge to evaluation, analysis, and interpretation of data. Develops appropriate methodologies for collecting, analyzing, and presenting data products. Develops useful and insightful information from a variety of data sources. Works with management and/or customers to develop and understand product specifications. Communicates regularly and effectively with team members and management, and communicates results effectively to management and/or customers. Delivers data products in report/presentation format, or verbally, to management and/or customer specifications and timelines. Points out system or process problems when noticed and engages the team in problem solving. Facilitates satisfactory communication and resolution of problems.

Website Traffic Analyst

Tracks and analyzes number and quality of visitors to gauge effectiveness of the website. Monitors, compiles, analyzes, and evaluates incoming website traffic. Typically requires a four-year degree or related experience.: Generates reports on web traffic and trends and patterns including revenue, conversion, and marketing campaign performance. Coordinates marketing objectives with web developers based on system capabilities. Tracks time spent at site. Researches, evaluates, and makes recommendations for purchase of web analysis software. May recommend changes to website and provides cost/benefit analysis of such changes. May work with marketing department to increase site's stickiness and reduce shopping cart abandonment rate.

Systems Analyst Lead

Leads professional-level systems analysts engaged in the activities of solving computer problems and enabling computer technology to meet the needs of the organization. Leads systems analysts in performing system studies to assist organization to realize maximum benefit from investments in equipment, personnel, and business processes. Assigns, coordinates, and reviews work of systems analyst personnel. Position is distinguished from a supervisor as position does not have full responsibility for recruiting, hiring, promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions. Typically requires a four-year college degree in field of specialty; however, some organizations may accept equivalent education and experience combined.: Consults with managerial and systems analysis personnel to clarify program intent, identify problems, suggest changes, and determine extent of programming and coding required. Develops programs from workflow charts or diagrams, considering factors, such as computer storage capacity and speed, extent of peripheral equipment, and intended use of output data. Converts workflow charts to language that can be processed by computer. Enters program codes into computer. Enters test data into computer. Analyzes test runs on computer to correct or direct correction of coded program and input data. Revises or directs revision of existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements. Compiles documentation of program development and subsequent revisions. Trains subordinates in programming and program coding. Prescribes standards for terms and symbols used to simplify interpretation of programs. Collaborates with computer manufacturers and other users to develop new programming methods. Prepares records and reports.

Systems Analyst

Solves computer problems and enables computer technology to meet the needs of the organization. Performs system studies to assist organization to realize maximum benefit from investments in equipment, personnel, and business processes. Plans and designs new computer systems or devises ways to apply existing systems resources to additional operations. Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing computer system. Typically requires a four-year college degree in field of specialty; however, some organizations may accept equivalent education and experience combined.: Confers with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements, such as forms of data input, how data is to be summarized, and formats for reports. Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer program. Reviews computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system. Studies existing information processing systems to evaluate effectiveness, and develops new systems to improve production or workflow as required. Prepares workflow charts and diagrams to specify in detail operations to be performed by equipment and computer programs and operations to be performed by personnel in system. Conducts studies pertaining to development of new information systems to meet current and projected needs. Plans and prepares technical reports, memoranda, and instructional manuals as documentation of program development. Upgrades system and corrects errors to maintain system after implementation. May assist computer programmer in resolution of work problems related to flowcharts, project specifications, or programming. May prepare time and cost estimates for completing projects. May direct and coordinate work of others to develop, test, install, and modify programs. May design new systems, including both hardware and software, or add new software applications to harness more of computer's power.

Bioinformatics Programmer Analyst

Organizes and directs staff in computing applications in a medical facility. Researches and studies areas in the medical field including sequence alignment, gene finding, genome assembly, protein structure alignment, protein structure prediction, prediction of gene expression, protein-protein interactions, and the modeling of evolution. Serves as an analytical assistant for multiple investigators and projects involving genetic association studies of cancer and related outcomes. Manages large genetic data files and conducts statistical analyses using off-the-shelf and custom tools. Implements and runs analysis scripts under supervision of senior consultants, faculty statisticians, project bioinformaticians, and other investigators.: Uses computing resources to solve problems on scales of magnitude far too great for human discernment. Develops or uses techniques, including applied mathematics, informatics, statistics, computer science, artificial intelligence, chemistry, and biochemistry, to extract useful information from data produced by high-throughput biological techniques, such as genome sequencing, and solve biological problems, usually on the molecular level. Develops and designs an interface for a medical facility, including but not limited to monitoring project status, identifying and resolving problems which may impact the project results, maintaining software and hardware, working with departmental leadership on developing and implementing policies, and consulting with departmental leadership regarding application alternatives, security, software usage, capacity planning, training, recovery, and backup procedures. Creates statistical software tools for analyzing large genomic data, and assists with overall software maintenance and development. Develops, maintains, and enhances the organization's software architecture. Interacts with collaborators at a medical research laboratory. Adds statistical/bioinformatics tools to existing software. Works with users to resolve errors and bugs in current released versions.

User Support Analyst Supervisor

Supervises and coordinates activities of employees engaged in interpreting problems, providing assistance, problem-solving support, and advising computer user related to hardware, software, and systems. Assists User Support Analyst in solving non-routine software, hardware, and procedure problems. Typically requires a four-year college degree in field of specialty. Typically reports to manager level in the organization.: Talks with staff, computer users, supervisors, and managers to determine requirements for new or modified software and hardware. Analyzes business procedures and problems to refine data for database management. Analyzes, designs and implements accurate, secure, efficient, logical and physical data bases and coordinates database development applying knowledge of database design standards and database management system. Identifies and resolves production and/or applications development problems related to the use of the database management system software or utilities. Reviews project request describing database user needs. Studies existing data handling systems to evaluate effectiveness, and develops new systems to improve production or workflow as required. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in field of specialty. Estimates time and cost required to accomplish project. Determines if project requires creating series of new programs or modifying existing programs that access data stored in databases. Attends specification meeting with project team workers to determine scope and limitations of project. Reviews workflow chart developed by programmer analyst to understand tasks computer will perform, such as updating records. Reviews procedures in database management system manuals for making changes to database, such as defining, creating, revising, and controlling database. Revises company definition of data as defined in data dictionary (information about data, including name, description, source of data item, and key words for categorizing and searching for data item descriptions). Determines and enters changes to data dictionary descriptions, including type, structure, and intended use of data within system, or assigns data entry work to programmer. Develops data model describing data elements and how they are used, following procedures and using pen and template or computer software. Creates description to enable programmer analysts to understand how programs should access data. Writes description of how user accesses data, referred to as logical database. Writes physical database description, such as location, space requirements, and access method, to protect company data resources against unauthorized access and accidental destruction, according to computer industry standards and knowledge of database management system. Conducts special studies and investigations pertaining to development of new information systems to meet current and projected needs. Plans and prepares technical reports, memoranda, and instructional manuals relative to the establishment and functioning of complete operational systems. Workers typically specialize in one or more types of database management systems. May specialize in adding, deleting, and modifying data items in data dictionary.

Programmer Analyst

Analyzes systems and writes programs. Evaluates users requests for new or modified computer programs to determine feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with current system, and computer capabilities. Formulates plan outlining steps required to develop program, using structured analysis and design. Plans, develops, tests, and documents computer programs, applying knowledge of programming techniques and computer systems. Usual requirement is a four-year college degree in field of specialty; some companies may accept equivalent education and experience combined.: Submits plans to user for approval. Prepares flowcharts and diagrams to illustrate sequence of steps program must follow and to describe logical operations involved. Consults with user to identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives. Reads manuals, periodicals, and technical reports to learn ways to develop programs that meet user requirements. Designs computer terminal screen displays to accomplish goals of user request. Converts project specifications, using flowcharts and diagrams, into sequence of detailed instructions and logical steps for coding into language that can be processed by computer, applying knowledge of computer programming techniques and computer languages. Enters program codes into computer system. Enters commands into computer to run and test program. Reads computer printouts, or observes display screen to detect syntax or logic errors during program test, or uses diagnostic software to detect errors. Replaces, deletes, or modifies codes to correct errors. Analyzes, reviews, and alters program to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements. Writes documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections. Writes manual for users to describe installation and operating procedures. Assists users to solve operating problems. Recreates steps taken by user to locate source problem and rewrites program to correct errors. May use computer-aided software tools, such as flowchart design and code generation, in each stage of system development. May train users to use program. May oversee installation of hardware and software. May provide technical assistance to program users. May install and test program at user site. May monitor performance of program after implementation. May specialize in developing programs for business or technical applications.

Business Systems Analyst

Analyzes business processes, functions, and procedures to determine the most effective business systems software to meet the needs of the organization. Establishes systems specifications and objectives, based on business requirements and cost effectiveness, and provides recommendations to management personnel. Participates in systems development and design, including software programming and table, report, and panel design. Formulates test plans and coordinates and performs software testing. This job typically requires a four-year degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.: Coordinates implementation of the system software, including conversion of data to the new system, and works with application support personnel to resolve system problems. Documents system specifications and notes any changes in procedure. Acts as liaison between systems software development staff, management, and system end-users to determine requirements and obtain sign-off. Provides training and technical support to system end-users.
