Environmental Engineer Job Description
Plans, designs, and oversees construction and maintenance of structures and facilities, such as roads, railroads, airports, bridges, harbors, channels, dams, irrigation projects, pipelines, power-plants, water and sewage systems, and waste disposal units to solve environmental problems. Researches and determines sources and methods of controlling pollutants in air, water, and soil, utilizing knowledge of agriculture, chemistry, meteorology, and engineering principles and applied technologies. : Designs gas and fluid flow systems, chemical reaction systems, mechanical equipment, and other test instrumentation. Performs technical research and utilizes computers as aids in developing solutions to engineering problems. Formulates plans, designs, cost estimates, and specifications.
