Sr. Electrical Engineer - Houston
Job Summary

They have many challenging engineering projects including healthcare facilities, petrochemical laboratories, research laboratories, commercial buildings, municipal buildings, infrastructure upgrades, commissioning and international projects.  In addition, they are helping clients meet their desire to build energy-efficient sustainable buildings.

They need a Senior Electrical Engineer who can work with an experienced group of designers and engineers to prepare building electrical plans and specifications.  Requirements include but are not limited to the detailed design, modeling and analysis of normal and emergency power distribution systems, the design of life safety systems, the design and modeling of lighting and associated control systems, and coordination with the Plumbing, Mechanical, Architectural, Structural, and Telecommunication/Audio Visual discipline design professionals.

Job Requirements

Required Experience:

    Required Education: 4 year degree, B.S. Electrical Engineering from ABET EAC accredited institution.

     

    Licensure: Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas, minimum.

     

    Requirements:

    Candidates must possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical design for commercial, healthcare and/or institutional buildings along with:

    •          Oral and written communications skills.
    •          Ability to supervise electrical designers.
    •          Planning and budgeting skills.
    •          Registration as a professional engineer in the State of Texas, minimum.
    •          Medium voltage (5 KV to 38 KV) power distribution.
    •          Low voltage (600 V class) building power distribution.
    •          In depth knowledge of lighting and lighting control systems.
    •          Fire alarm system design and in depth knowledge of the NFPA.
    •          Standby and Prime electrical power generation and switching technology.
    •          Power and lighting system design in classified areas and various research environments.
    •          In depth knowledge of grounding and lightning protection systems.
    •          In depth knowledge of Healthcare Electrical Power Distribution System design and analysis.
    •          Power system modeling and analysis utilizing SKM PowerTools.
    •          A working knowledge of AutoCAD and Building Information Modeling (BIM) System(s), specifically REVIT MEP, and Microsoft Office suite of business software.
    •          Ability to work closely with clients and contractors.
