CLAIM SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE II
Job Description

Capital Insurance Group has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Property Claim Service Representative (1st Party Homeowners and/or Commercial). The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent time management and sound organizational skills; effective communications ability, both verbally and in writing to interact effectively with claimants, customers and company personnel; excellent investigative and analytical skills to evaluate exposure, assess coverage and settle cases within assigned level of authority. Daily responsibilies include answering claim-type specific incoming phone loss reports within a functional unit in the Call Center. Investigates assigned claims to determine coverage and provide benefits to insureds, according to Company Guidelines and DOI Regulations. Adjusts or denies claims within the scope of the company’s contractual and legal obligations, communicating those decisions to insureds and their agents as necessary. Enters and retrieves online data, establishing electronic claim file folders for the entire claim operation, as well as own claim inventory. Types and logs all drafts into the computer database according to company procedures. Communicates orally, in writing, and face-to-face with Home Office, insureds, agents, experts and others associated with individual claims. Reviews and evaluates files for subrogation possibilities. Corresponds with third parties, negotiating payment plans when necessary.



Job Requirements

Qualifications:

You must be self-directed with a superior work ethic. Must possess strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to evaluate coverage, perform detailed investigations and effect settlement. Must possess excellent customer service skills with the ability to listen carefully and communicate effectively.

To be considered you must have a minimum of one to two years of claims adjusting experience, completion of two years of college course work/degree, excellent PC skills with the ability to develop timely reports, documentation and correspondence.  You must have strong negotiation skills along with the ability to effect timely investigations and settlements. Excellent communication skills, oral and written, within the English language. Superior customer service techniques. Basic computer knowledge of WINDOWS Operating Systems.
